Map browsing is the general activity of moving the map image:
Moving (usually with the mouse using the combination: click and hold -> move -> release)
Zooming (usually with the mouse wheel [scroll] or with the “+” and “-” buttons available in the toolbar).
These are the basic activities you can perform in any GIS application.
