GML format (Geography Markup Language)

The GML format (Geography Markup Language) is an XML-based markup language for describing geographic and spatial data. It is commonly used in geographic information systems (GIS) to store, exchange and present geospatial information such as maps, geographic objects and their attributes. GML allows geometries, topologies, attributes, spatial relationships and other properties of geographic data to be described, facilitating interoperability between different applications and platforms.
